Director/Pastor of Worship

Job Overview

The Director/Pastor of Worship provides pastoral and musical leadership to help Southgate Baptist Church make and multiply disciples through Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship. This role partners closely with the Senior Pastor to plan and lead weekly services while shepherding and developing worship teams.
Key Expectations & Qualifications

  • Serve faithfully as an elder—shepherding, equipping, and protecting the church in alignment with 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
  • Plan and lead Sunday worship services (serving as primary worship leader at least 75% of the time) in partnership with the Senior Pastor.
  • Recruit, develop, and oversee worship volunteers, musicians, and sound/AV teams with clear communication and encouragement.
  • Demonstrate strong musical skill, pastoral warmth, theological depth, and proven leadership ability.
